Lean Manufacturing Concepts and Applications within the Photonics Industry Context

Instructor: Neil Byrne, Lean Manufacturing Specialist

About the Course

Lean Manufacturing is best known for its application in the automotive industry, however Lean has been applied to many process tasked operations with great success. This one-day workshop will explain the basic steps of Lean and how Lean was applied and was successful in the field of photonics. We will explore Lean concepts such as Flow, Waste, 5S, Visual Factory. We will also do an interactive demonstration of mass vs. single piece Flow. We will discuss companies in the photonics field who have applied Lean Manufacturing in their successes.
